John Koch bought Tarpon Diner and wanted to re-establish it as a friendly neighborhood place to eat hearty, homemade, scratch-cooking in downtown Tarpon Springs. This charismatic fellow with a love of cooking and a hefty, enthusiastic social media following needed a delicious, beautiful but simple website for his new venue. Macgirl gave him exactly what he wanted.
The tarpondiner.com website uses WordPress, a platform which is plugged in to social media, so that it will be easy to blog, and synchronize posts on Facebook and Twitter and Instagram, with newsfeeds on the diner website.
WordPress designs are Google friendly, designed to be updated, and mobile-friendly. This means that you don’t need to know any code to blog about an upcoming event, or add a menu item, or upload photographs of a party or special occasion.
Unlike traditional (html) web sites, WordPress sites are responsive (mobile-friendly), and themes are upgraded several times a year to keep pace with security and software changes.
Tarpondiner.com is a compelling site which matches the chef’s style and suits the next generation of customers. We used big food graphics, designed the new logo, and found historic local icons to emphasize the locality of the Tarpon Diner brand.
John spent the two months prior to the web site’s Grand Re-Opening on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter – uploading photos of new dishes, telling his fans about his dreams for the Diner, and getting a bunch of great suggestions from enthusiastic eaters.
He didn’t NEED any Google Adwords advertising because he did SUCH A GREAT JOB updating and interacting on social media….
Updating the Diner’s Facebook Page, Uploading new photos almost daily on Instagram, (like ‘Blogging’ — posting new items on your Blog–) lets you communicate directly with your customers, your clients, your fans. It works.
The MENU page lets customers peruse the various offerings — and the prices — before they even walk in. Changing the Menu page is NO BIG DEAL with the right theme and the right WordPress plugins…
John knows the Website is an excellent advertising tool which he can synchronize and coordinate with his social media efforts. Great Job, John!
