Grace, the president of Bucketlist Travel, travels for leisure as well as to build new relationships and develop resources as a luxury travel advisor. In order to re-invent the idea of travel, Grace must imagine how her clients experience the world. Yet Grace knows that however different her clients, each of them has a list. “There is always a list!,” she says.
Before they are booked, luxury destinations are imagined, mapped out mentally, experienced visually. Beautiful places, luxurious hotel suites, exotic foods work their way into her clients’ dreams by way of images, photographs, stories, movies and travelogues. These internal images are archived, encrypted, and saved in a special place.
When building a website for Grace’s Travel Agency, Macgirl Design considered the museum quality photographs accessible to Grace; photographs of Pamplona, of Manarola, of Zacatecas, of Bo-Kaap, of the Serengetti….Each photograph brings a remote place closer, and shows us that something far away is palpable, accessible and real. At the root of this beautiful website are photographs which capture what it must be like, what it will be like, to stand just a step or two away from something that will soon be possessed.
The website represents each Bucket List exploration as an unforgettable luxury offering, negotiated by Grace as an exclusively customized travel arrangement. The magical photographs make it possible to imagine, and covet, these luxury offerings. The accompanying calls to action, email forms, and travel surveys turn visitors into dreamers and dreamers into travellers….
