One way to do this is to create an alert for 404 Error Pages on Google Analytics.
Google Analytics can alert you each time 404 traffic reaches a certain number of visits a day. You can get notified by email, or text message each time someone hits an error page.

You can also get 404 Error Page information from Google’s Webmaster Tools — . Your first view of a web site’s dashboard will tell you if there are any Crawl Errors:
When you’re ready to correct your errors, go to CRAWL > CRAWL ERRORS
The URL Errors are listed, and when you click on the specific URLs a window shows you the page with the mistaken link.
Once you fix your errors, mark the page as fixed.
